Jet de Go! is one of those weird little Game Boy Color gems that flew under the radar outside Japan. It's a stripped-down flight sim where you pilot commercial jets between airports, but don't expect Microsoft Flight Simulator—this is all about that satisfying arcade-style handling. The first thing you'll notice is how surprisingly good the planes feel to control with just a D-pad and two buttons.
You start off with basic short-haul routes, but the real fun begins when you unlock bigger jets and trickier landings. The graphics are simple but charming, with these chunky pixelated runways that somehow make nailing a smooth touchdown feel like an achievement. I remember struggling with crosswinds at first—those tiny GBC speakers really sell the stress when your plane starts wobbling on approach.
It's definitely a product of its time, but there's something oddly relaxing about guiding a 747 through retro Japanese skies between homework sessions or bus rides. The whole thing has this low-key vibe that makes it perfect for quick plays.
