Gryzor—or Contra, if you're not playing the Japanese version—is one of those NES games that just feels intense from the moment you press start. You're dropped right into the jungle with a machine gun, blasting through waves of soldiers and weird alien-looking things. No tutorials, no hand-holding—just pure run-and-gun chaos.
The controls are tight, but good luck surviving long without memorizing enemy patterns. That first level boss? Yeah, good luck with that. And don’t even get me started on the infamous Konami code—some of us needed it just to see past the third stage back in the day.
It’s short, brutal, and exactly the kind of game you’ll restart immediately after dying because this time you swear you’ll do better.
