Gods on SNES is one of those games that looks simple at first—you're just a buff warrior dude jumping around ancient ruins—but then it throws curveballs at you. The first level lulls you into thinking it's a straightforward platformer, but then suddenly you're dodging spike traps, solving weird little puzzles, and getting mobbed by minotaurs. The controls feel a bit heavy, like your guy has actual weight to him, which makes the jumps tense.
What really stuck with me was the atmosphere. The pixel art gives everything this eerie glow, like you're actually wandering through some forgotten temple. And the music? Haunting synth tracks that somehow make picking up a random floating sword feel epic. Just don't expect it to go easy on you—some of those later levels feel like the game is personally offended you made it that far.
If you like your retro games with a side of "why is everything trying to kill me," this one's a solid time capsule from the SNES era.
