F-Zero: GP Legend came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Suzak and published by Nintendo. It was part of that wave of GBA racers that tried to capture a console feel on a small screen, and it was based on the anime series of the same name. You got a solid roster of machines and pilots from the show, which was a nice change if you were familiar with the F-Zero world beyond just the SNES original.

You control an anti-gravity racer, threading through tight tracks at extreme speeds while trying to outmaneuver twenty-nine other pilots. The main objective is to win cups and climb the ranks in the Grand Prix mode. Your machine has a health bar that also serves as your boost energy; you can sacrifice some of that meter for a sudden burst of speed, which adds a constant risk-reward layer to every lap. Another key mechanic is the side attack, a quick shove to destabilize rivals without losing much momentum. The game moves fast and demands sharp reflexes, especially on later courses where one mistake can send you skidding into a bottomless pit. Holding the accelerator flat out while navigating hairpin turns and magnetic strips creates a real sense of velocity and tension.
