Ecco Jr. is the chill little brother of the Ecco the Dolphin series—way less stressful than the original, but still full of that dreamy underwater vibe. You play as a baby dolphin just vibing through coral reefs, solving simple puzzles, and occasionally helping out other sea creatures. No time limits, no drowning, just you and the ocean.
The controls are smooth—you glide through kelp forests, do little flips, and even get to echolocate stuff (which sounds cooler than it is, but hey, it’s fun). The colors pop for a Genesis game, and the music’s this weirdly relaxing mix of chimes and watery echoes. It’s the kind of game you play when you just want to zone out for a bit.
Honestly, it’s a great intro for kids or anyone who found the main Ecco games too punishing. You won’t get stuck for hours or panic about air meters—just swim around, poke at seashells, and enjoy being a dolphin. It’s short, sweet, and oddly calming.
