Dragon's Lair (japan) Game

Dragon's Lair (Japan) on NES is basically the OG quick-time event game before quick-time events were even a thing. You play as Dirk the Daring, this hilariously awkward knight who stumbles through a dragon's castle full of instant-death traps. The whole thing plays like an interactive cartoon—you don't really control Dirk directly, just mash buttons at the right moments to keep him from getting roasted, squashed, or dropped into pits.
First time I played, I died like five times in the first minute because I didn't realize how precise the timing had to be. The animation's surprisingly smooth for an NES game, though, and there's something weirdly satisfying about finally nailing that perfect sequence where Dirk swings across a chandelier or dodges a fireball. Just don't expect deep gameplay—it's more like a rhythm game where failure means watching Dirk die in increasingly ridiculous ways.
Honestly half the fun is seeing all the creative death animations the devs came up with.
