Dragon Ninja (Japan) is one of those NES beat 'em ups that feels like it should be way more famous than it is. You play as a ninja—obviously—slicing through waves of enemies with your sword, tossing shurikens when things get too crowded. The first level throws you right into a city at night, neon signs flickering in the background while thugs pour out of alleys. It’s got that classic arcade vibe where you just keep moving forward, smacking guys into the air with satisfying little "thwack" sounds.
What’s cool is how fast it feels—your ninja moves quick, and the enemies don’t mess around. Some of the jumps are a little janky (this is an NES game, after all), but once you get the timing down, it’s weirdly addictive. The music’s got that old-school synth energy, too—simple but catchy. If you’re into retro action games, this one’s a solid way to burn 20 minutes.
