About Dragon Ninja (japan)
Dragon Ninja came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed by Culture Brain. It was part of that wave of side-scrolling action games that filled the NES library, offering a straightforward ninja adventure without much of the complexity found in other titles from the same period.
You control a ninja who moves screen by screen through urban and fortress environments. Your main goal is to rescue a kidnapped girl from a rival clan, fighting through waves of enemy ninjas and other martial artists. You have a basic sword for close combat and a limited supply of shurikens for attacking at a distance; you can also jump and cling to certain walls and ceilings to avoid hazards. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding precise jumps and quick attacks to survive. It feels like a challenging, no-frills test of your reflexes and patience.
