Diablo (prototype) Game

Ever wonder what Diablo would’ve been like on the Game Boy? This prototype is a weird, rough-around-the-edges take on the classic—dark, claustrophobic, and somehow still addictive. You’re hacking through pixelated demons in tight corridors, managing a tiny inventory, and praying you don’t get swarmed because healing potions are scarce. The atmosphere’s surprisingly thick for a handheld this old—every flickering torch feels like it’s hiding something.
It’s janky in places (of course it is, it’s a prototype), but there’s something cool about seeing Diablo’s grim tone squeezed into a monochrome screen. You’ll recognize some skills and enemies, but don’t expect smooth controls or polished menus. More like stumbling through a forgotten dungeon yourself. If you’re into gaming history or just love Diablo enough to try a bizarre what-if version, it’s a neat little time capsule.
