Darkwing Duck on NES is one of those classic Capcom side-scrollers that nails the cartoon’s vibe—goofy but surprisingly tough. You’re basically a duck in a cape zipping around St. Canard, blasting bad guys with your gas gun (which, yeah, sounds weird but works). The controls are tight, and the levels throw in just enough variety—one minute you’re hopping on rooftops, the next you’re dodging traffic in a hovercar.
Pro tip: The gas gun has different ammo types, and I totally fumbled through the first stage before realizing electric shots wreck certain enemies faster. Also, that sewer level? Way harder than it looks.
Keyboard controls if you’re playing online: arrows to move, Z/X for attacks, Enter to start. Takes a second to adjust, but it feels natural once you’re ducking and blasting.
It’s short but satisfying, with that old-school "one more try" energy when bosses kick your tail feathers.
