Chameleon Kid Game

Chameleon Kid is one of those weird little Genesis platformers that somehow sticks with you. You play as this little chameleon dude who can change colors on the fly, which sounds gimmicky at first—until you realize how cleverly the game uses it. Need to sneak past a red enemy? Turn red. Gotta activate a blue switch? You get the idea.
The levels are bright and surprisingly detailed for a 16-bit game, with these floating platforms and enemies that look like rejected Happy Meal toys. Some jumps feel just slightly too precise (classic Genesis difficulty), but when you nail a tricky color-swap mid-air to avoid an enemy, it feels awesome.
Honestly, it’s not some hidden masterpiece, but there’s charm in how it mixes simple platforming with that color mechanic. If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if someone mashed Sonic’s speed with a chameleon’s survival instincts, here’s your answer.
