Cacoma Knight is one of those weird little SNES games that somehow sticks with you. At first glance, it’s simple—each level is just a single screen where you draw lines with magic chalk to "purify" chunks of the stage. But the deeper you get, the more it messes with your head.
You start by boxing off sections of the screen, trying to clear as much as possible before hitting the "Qualify" target. The trick? The smaller of the two areas you create gets wiped clean, so you’re constantly balancing risk and reward. Go too greedy, and you might accidentally purify the wrong chunk. Play it safe, and you’ll miss out on power-ups hidden in the untouched parts.
And then there are the enemies. Some crawl along your chalk lines, others roam freely, and all of them respawn way too fast. You can trap them inside your shapes, but they’ll be back before you finish celebrating. It’s chaotic in the best way—like a puzzle game that suddenly remembers it’s also an action game.
Honestly, it’s the kind of thing you either bounce off in five minutes or lose an hour to without realizing. If you like your retro games with a side of "wait, how does this even work?", give it a shot.
