Boulder Dash on NES is one of those classic games that looks simple at first—just dig through caves, grab gems, and find the exit. But man, it gets tense fast. Those boulders don’t mess around—if you dig wrong, they’ll crush you or block your path completely. And then there’s the critters: fireflies, butterflies, all kinds of things that’ll chase you down if you’re not careful.
What I love is how every level feels like a puzzle. You can’t just dig randomly or you’ll get stuck, and the timer keeps you moving. The explosions add this weirdly satisfying chaos—blow up the wrong thing and suddenly half the cave’s collapsing. It’s old-school tough, but in a way that makes you want to try just one more time.
Definitely a game where patience (and maybe a few deep breaths) pays off.
