Big Nose The Caveman is one of those weird, charming NES platformers that somehow makes you love it despite its jank. You play as a caveman with, well, a big nose, bouncing around prehistoric levels full of dinosaurs, lava pits, and vines to swing from. The controls take a minute to get used to—Big Nose has this floaty jump that feels off at first, but once you adjust, it’s oddly satisfying.

The levels are short but packed with little secrets and annoying enemies that pop up at the worst times. I remember getting stuck on this one section with falling rocks for way too long before realizing you just had to time it right. The music’s catchy in that classic NES way, and the graphics have that rough-around-the-edges charm from the era. It’s not the hardest game out there, but it’s got enough quirks to keep you entertained if you’re into retro platformers. Definitely a hidden gem if you can handle a little old-school frustration.
