Big Nose Freaks Out came out in 1992 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Codemasters. It was part of that later wave of NES games, the kind that showed up when the 16-bit consoles were already taking over. You don't hear much about it, but it's a solid platformer from that era.

You control Big Nose, a caveman with a large proboscis, running and jumping through side scrolling levels. The main goal is to rescue your kidnapped girlfriend from a rival tribe. Your primary tool is a club for bashing enemies, but you also collect bones to throw as projectiles. The game is structured screen by screen; you clear one area of enemies to proceed to the next. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with precise jumps required over bottomless pits. It feels like a frantic dash through a prehistoric cartoon.
