Battle Baseball is one of those weird, early NES sports games that barely feels like baseball—in the best way possible. You've got tiny, blocky players who move way too fast, pitches that curve like they're defying physics, and fielding that's basically controlled chaos. At first, I thought it was broken, but after a few innings, the absurdity grew on me.
Pitchers can throw fireballs, batters occasionally send the ball into orbit, and the AI swings at everything like it's got a personal grudge against the ball. The fielders? Good luck controlling them—they zigzag like they're drunk, but somehow it works. It's not a deep sim by any means, but if you want a fast, ridiculous take on baseball from the NES era, this is it.
Just don't expect anything close to realism.
