B.O.B. is one of those weird, janky Genesis gems where you play as a robot kid who totally wrecked his dad's spaceship—now he's stuck blasting through alien-infested levels with his built-in arm cannon. The controls take a second to get used to (that jump feels heavy), but once you figure out the rhythm, it's oddly satisfying to bounce between platforms while dodging enemy fire.
Some of the level designs are brutal—expect bottomless pits, disappearing platforms, and enemies that pop up right where you're about to land. But the weapons are fun to mess with, especially the ricochet shots that let you hit stuff around corners. Just don't get too attached to any one gun; you lose them when you die, which... happens a lot.
It's got that early '90s vibe where everything's a little rough around the edges, but there's charm in the chaos. The soundtrack slaps, too.
