Arch Rivals is basically basketball if the NBA let players throw hands mid-game. You pick from eight ridiculous characters (my go-to was always the mohawk guy) and jump into chaotic 2v2 matches where punching someone in the face is a totally valid defensive strategy.
The controls take a second to click—you’re either controlling one player or swapping between them with a button press, which leads to some hilarious moments where you accidentally leave your teammate standing still while the other guy dunks on you. No fouls means you can clothesline dudes, steal the ball mid-air, or just generally be a menace. It’s janky, over-the-top, and way more fun with a friend yelling next to you.
Honestly, the basketball part almost feels secondary to the brawling. If you’ve ever wanted to see a pixelated athlete get knocked flat on their back after a three-pointer, this is your game.
