Andre Agassi Tennis (beta) Game

Andre Agassi Tennis on the Genesis is one of those early '90s sports games that somehow nails the chaotic energy of tennis without taking itself too seriously. The controls are simple—just a button for swings and some basic movement—but matches get surprisingly intense once you figure out the timing. The ball physics are a little floaty, and yeah, Agassi’s sprite looks like he’s permanently mid-scream, but there’s a weird charm to it.
You’ve got a few court surfaces to pick from, and the difference in ball bounce actually matters (clay slows things down, hardcourt is fast). The AI isn’t exactly Grand Slam-level smart, but it’ll punish lazy shots. I remember getting wrecked the first time I played because I kept trying to smash every return like an idiot. Turns out, patience works better.
It’s not the deepest tennis sim, but for a Genesis title, it’s solid fun if you’re into that era of janky sports games. The crowd noise alone is a nostalgia trip.
