Akira (japan) Game

So, Akira on the NES—yeah, the one based on the anime. It came out in '88, riding the hype of the movie, but honestly? It's... not what you'd expect. You'd think it'd be some wild cyberpunk action game, right? Nope. It's a weird mix of side-scrolling beat-'em-up and awkward platforming, with Kaneda and Tetsuo looking like tiny, stiff sprites. The controls are kinda clunky, and the levels drag on forever.
Still, there's something oddly charming about it—maybe the chiptune version of the movie's theme, or how bizarrely it tries to cram the whole story into 8-bit. Not gonna lie, it's more of a curiosity than a must-play. But if you're a hardcore Akira fan, you might get a kick out of seeing how they butchered it back in the day.
