Ever tried sumo wrestling in a video game? Aa Harimanada on Genesis is one of the few that actually gets it right—none of that flashy fighting game nonsense, just two massive dudes in loincloths shoving each other around a tiny ring. The controls are simple (mostly charging and sidestepping), but timing your pushes just right feels surprisingly tactical.
First match in, I got absolutely wrecked by some guy named "Takanohana" because I kept charging in like an idiot. Turns out, letting the opponent overcommit works way better. The pixel art’s charming too—those exaggerated belly physics when someone goes flying never get old. Not gonna lie, it’s janky by modern standards, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about the thud of a perfectly executed throw.
If you’ve got a soft spot for weird sports games or 90s Sega oddities, this one’s a blast with a friend. Just don’t expect a deep single-player experience.
