Zool on SNES is one of those weird, hyperactive platformers that feels like it was designed by someone who drank way too much soda. You play as this neon-colored ninja dude from another dimension, bouncing off walls, slicing through enemies, and collecting candy (because of course you do). The levels are bright, chaotic, and just a little bit unfair—expect to die a lot until you memorize where those instant-kill spikes pop up.
The music’s got that classic early ‘90s synth vibe, all bouncy and slightly overwhelming, which somehow fits perfectly with the game’s "throw everything at the wall" energy. It’s not the smoothest platformer out there, but there’s something weirdly charming about how over-the-top it is. If you grew up renting weird games from Blockbuster, this one’s a nostalgia bomb.
Just don’t expect it to go easy on you—Zool plays by its own rules.
