Yoshi: Topsy-Turvy is one of those weird little GBA games that makes you look ridiculous tilting your handheld like a steering wheel—but in a good way. The whole gimmick is that you physically rotate the console to shift platforms, tip enemies off cliffs, or even flip entire sections of the level upside down. It takes a minute to get used to, but once it clicks, you’ll be leaning left and right like you’re dodging traffic.
It’s still classic Yoshi—egg-throwing, flutter-jumping, all that—but with this bizarre tilt mechanic layered on top. Some levels feel like solving a puzzle just by how you hold the system. And yeah, it’s got that bright, bouncy Nintendo charm, even if the physics occasionally go a little haywire when you tilt too hard. Just don’t play it in public unless you’re cool with people giving you strange looks.
Honestly, it’s a shame more games didn’t try something this weird. It’s janky in places, but there’s nothing else quite like it.
