About Dr. Mario & Puzzle League
I picked up Dr. Mario & Puzzle League for the Game Boy Advance back when it came out, a Nintendo release that bundled two of their classic puzzle games into one cartridge. It was a solid choice for the platform, fitting right in with other portable titles you could play in short bursts.
In Dr. Mario, you control falling capsules, rotating them to match colors and clear viruses from the bottle. Puzzle League has you swapping adjacent tiles to form rows or columns of three or more identical pieces, which then disappear. Both games require quick pattern recognition and planning several moves ahead as the speed steadily increases. The pacing starts deceptively simple but ramps up into a genuine test of your reflexes and foresight. It feels satisfying to set up a large chain reaction and watch the screen clear in a cascade.
