Your main goal is to fight through each stage, defeat a boss, and then race back to the start before a timer counts down and a bomb explodes. Each character has a standard, unlimited attack, such as a punch or a projectile, and a special power that drains their energy meter; using it up completely will kill your character. The game is known for its high difficulty, partly due to the demanding escape sequences and the fact that accessing the final level requires a secret code. Playing it feels like a constant, frantic scramble against the clock.
