About Twin Eagle
Twin Eagle came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989, developed by SETA Corporation. It was part of that wave of arcade style shooters that tried to bring a coin-op feel home, fitting right in with other straightforward action games of the era.
You pilot a helicopter through vertically scrolling levels, shooting down a constant stream of enemy planes, tanks, and soldiers. Your main goal is to survive the onslaught and rack up points, with a secondary objective to rescue hostages that sometimes appear from destroyed buildings. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups dropped by certain enemies; these can upgrade your main weapon to a cannon, two-way fire, or missiles, or grant screen clearing bombs.
