Top Gear 3000 is one of those SNES racers that feels like it got beamed in from the future—or at least what the '90s thought the future would look like. Neon tracks, weirdly angular cars, and a synth soundtrack that sounds like it’s straight out of a cyberpunk garage. You’re basically racing across planets, which sounds cooler than it is, but the handling’s surprisingly tight for an old-school racer.

First race in, you’ll be wrestling with the drift-heavy physics—tap the shoulder buttons just right, and you can slide around corners like you’re on rails. The tracks get wild fast, with loops, jumps, and gravity shifts that’ll mess with your head if you’re not paying attention. And yeah, the AI drivers are absolute cheaters, but that just makes beating them more satisfying.

It’s not perfect—some tracks drag on too long, and the car upgrades feel a little random—but there’s something weirdly addictive about it. Maybe it’s the way the speed ramps up until you’re basically just guessing turns. Either way, it’s a solid time capsule of ‘90s racing chaos.
