Tombs & Treasure is one of those old-school NES adventure games that feels like Indiana Jones meets a cryptic puzzle box. You start off in some dusty ruins, poking around for clues and trying not to get wrecked by traps—because yeah, those exist, and they don’t mess around. The controls take a second to get used to (Z for jumping, X for attacking, that kind of thing), but once it clicks, it’s weirdly satisfying to flip switches and dodge rolling boulders.
Fair warning: the game doesn’t hold your hand. You’ll be scribbling down symbols or backtracking because you missed a hidden lever. But if you’re into that trial-and-error, figure-it-out-as-you-go vibe, it’s got charm. Just don’t expect modern conveniences like checkpoints.
Oh, and the music? Absolute banger for an 8-bit soundtrack. That dungeon theme still gets stuck in my head.
