Tokkyuu Shirei - Solbrain is one of those weird, late-era NES action games that feels like it was made for kids who couldn't get enough of cyborg ninjas. You play as this special agent dude with these ridiculous extendable robot arms that let you punch enemies from halfway across the screen. At first I thought it was just another clunky side-scroller, but the arm mechanics actually make combat kinda fun—you can grab ledges, swing across gaps, and even snatch weapons out of the air.
The levels are short but packed with traps and enemies that force you to get creative with those arms. Some sections feel a little trial-and-error, especially when platforms drop out from under you, but nailing a perfect swing across a pit never gets old. Just don't expect deep storytelling—this is pure 8-bit action with a cybernetic twist.
