Okay, so The Uncanny X-Men on NES is... well, it’s rough. You pick from Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Colossus, or Storm, and right off the bat, the controls feel stiff—like you’re wading through molasses. The sprites are tiny, and half the time you’re just mashing buttons hoping something connects.
It’s one of those early superhero games where the idea sounds cooler than the execution. You’re jumping between platforms, punching robots, and occasionally using powers (Storm’s lightning is kinda fun, at least). But the hit detection? Questionable. The level design? Confusing. I got stuck in a corner for five minutes because the game didn’t make it clear where to go next.
Still, there’s a weird charm to it if you’re an X-Men diehard. Just don’t expect anything close to the later arcade brawlers. This one’s strictly for nostalgia or masochists.
