Okay, so The Mask on SNES is basically what happens when you take Jim Carrey’s manic energy and cram it into a side-scroller. You start off as mild-mannered Stanley Ipkiss, but the second you slap on that green-faced curse, things go completely off the rails. One minute you’re tossing playing cards like a maniac, the next you’re inflating yourself like a balloon to float over enemies—it’s ridiculous in the best way.

The levels are packed with little nods to the movie, like dancing cops and that tiny dog who just won’t quit. The art style nails the cartoonish chaos, though some of the platforming can get a bit janky (looking at you, sewer level). Still, there’s something weirdly satisfying about pelting gangsters with giant mallets or turning into a tornado of confetti. It’s not the deepest game, but it’s pure 90s weirdness with a killer soundtrack. Just don’t expect it to play fair all the time.
