So The Lone Ranger on NES is one of those classic revenge stories—you ride back into town after your brother gets killed and the president gets snatched, and now it's up to you to clean house. It's got that old-school side-scrolling action where you're blasting through bad guys, helping townsfolk, and piecing together what happened. The controls are simple (Z and X for shooting, arrows to move), but some of those enemy patterns can be brutal if you're not careful.
What I like is how it mixes shooting with little detective bits—you actually talk to people and get clues instead of just mowing everything down. That said, the difficulty spikes hard in later levels, so expect some trial and error. If you're into this kind of retro chaos, the Metal Slug games have a similar vibe, just with way more explosions.
Fair warning: you'll probably die a lot before figuring out the enemy placements. But that's half the fun.
