Ever played one of those weird little Game Boy games based on a movie you've never heard of? Tasmania Story is exactly that—a Japan-only release (with a later US version) based on some obscure live-action film. You control this kid named Taz, running around collecting fruit while dodging... honestly, I'm still not sure what half the enemies are supposed to be. Giant bouncing shoes? A walking alarm clock?
The controls are stiff in that classic early Game Boy way, and the music loops after about 10 seconds, but there's something oddly charming about how random it all feels. You'll hop between platforms, grab keys to unlock doors, and occasionally stumble into a boss fight that makes zero sense without the movie context. It's the kind of game you play just to say "yep, that sure was a thing that existed."
If you're into obscure retro curiosities, this one's a trip—just don't expect it to explain itself.
