Super Robot Wars OG2 is one of those rare GBA strategy RPGs that actually made it over to the West—and thank goodness it did. You're thrown right into the chaos with a roster of mechs that all handle differently, from close-range brawlers to snipers that pick off enemies from halfway across the map. The first few missions ease you in, but don't get too comfortable—those boss fights later on? Brutal.
What I love is how each pilot has their own quirks, and pairing the right one with the right machine makes all the difference. That one dude in the red mech? Absolute monster in melee, but put him in anything else and he's just okay. The sprite work still holds up too—nothing like watching your custom-built robot unleash a screen-filling laser attack.
If you're into turn-based tactics with a ton of customization, this one's a no-brainer. Just don't blame me when you lose track of time tweaking your loadouts between missions.
