Star Trek Generations on Game Boy is one of those weird little licensed games from the '90s that somehow ended up being kinda fun. You play as Kirk and Picard (yes, both) jumping between the movie-era Enterprise and the Next Gen crew, solving puzzles and blasting through space battles. The sprites are tiny but charming, and the soundtrack nails that classic Trek vibe.
First ten minutes? You're immediately thrown into a shuttle crash, then hopping between timelines trying to stabilize the Nexus. The controls take a second to get used to—phaser aiming feels stiff at first, but you adapt. Weirdly, the puzzle sections where you beam down to planets hold up better than the action bits.
It's janky in that very specific way old handheld games were, but if you grew up with Trek or just love obscure retro oddities, there's something oddly satisfying here. Just don't expect a deep RPG—it's more like a bite-sized adventure with a lot of awkward charm.
