Spot - The Video Game is one of those weird little NES gems that somehow turns a simple board game into something weirdly addictive. You're basically playing a digital version of Othello (or Reversi, if you prefer), but with this oddball cartoon dog mascot staring at you the whole time. The controls are dead simple—slide your pieces around, flip the opponent's tiles, try not to get cornered.

First time I booted it up, I thought it'd be a throwaway kids' game, but the AI actually puts up a decent fight if you crank the difficulty. And yeah, the Z/X/C button setup takes a second to get used to, but after a few rounds, it clicks. The music’s got that classic NES bleep-bloop charm too—kinda repetitive, but in a nostalgic way.

Honestly, it’s not gonna blow your mind, but if you’re into quick strategy games or just love weird retro oddities, it’s a fun way to kill 20 minutes. Just don’t let Spot’s unblinking eyes haunt your dreams.
