Oh man, Smurfs on NES—talk about a nostalgia trip. This was one of those licensed games that actually didn’t suck, which was rare back then. You play as Papa Smurf (or sometimes just a regular Smurf, depending on the level), jumping through mushroom-filled forests and dodging Gargamel’s traps. The music’s weirdly catchy, and the platforming’s just tricky enough to keep you on your toes without feeling unfair.
First level throws you right into it—hopping over logs, collecting those little Smurfberries (because of course they’re the currency), and figuring out which paths lead to hidden stuff. The hit detection’s a little janky by modern standards, but that’s part of the charm. And yeah, it’s got multiple language options, but let’s be real, you’re probably here for the pixelated blue guys, not the French text.
Still holds up if you’re into old-school platformers. Just watch out for those birds—they’re sneakier than they look.
