Shin Sangoku Musou Advance is basically Dynasty Warriors crammed into a Game Boy Advance cartridge—somehow. You still get that classic hack-and-slash chaos, just pixelated and with way fewer enemies on screen at once. At first, I thought the controls would feel clunky, but they actually pulled it off decently.
You pick a warlord (Lu Bu, obviously), mash through waves of peons, and occasionally duel enemy officers in these weird little one-on-one showdowns. The sprites are tiny, but you can still tell who’s who—Cao Cao’s got that ridiculous hat, Sun Jian’s rocking the beard. It’s not as flashy as the console versions, but there’s something satisfying about clearing a whole battlefield during a bus ride.
Oh, and the caravan mode? Basically a survival gauntlet where you fight nonstop until your health runs out. Perfect for when you just want mindless action without the story stuff. It’s a miracle this even runs on a GBA.
