About Raging Fighter
I picked up Raging Fighter for my Game Boy back in 1993. It was published by Taito, and it fit right in with the other portable action games of that time. You know, the kind you'd play on a long car ride, squinting at the screen under a dim light. It wasn't trying to be the biggest or the flashiest game out there, just a solid brawler you could take with you.
You control a martial artist moving from left to right, beating up waves of thugs. Your main goal is to fight through each stage, defeating the boss at the end. You have a basic punch and kick, but you can also perform special moves by inputting specific commands, like a rising uppercut or a spinning kick. The game is screen by screen; you clear all the enemies in one area before moving to the next. It's fairly difficult, with enemies that gang up on you quickly, so you need to learn the timing for your attacks and dodges. Playing it feels like a constant, fast paced scramble where a single mistake can cost you a life.
