Race America on NES is basically what happens when you strap a rocket to a road trip. You're blasting across the U.S. at insane speeds—good luck recognizing any landmarks when you're hitting 180mph past the Grand Canyon. The game throws you into nine different race types, from straight-up drag races to these brutal 100-mile marathons where one spinout can ruin your whole run.
What I like is how it keeps switching things up—one minute you're racing through downtown Chicago at night, next you're trying not to wreck on some desert highway with the camera suddenly cutting to this weird helicopter view. The AI drivers don't mess around either; they'll shove you into guardrails if you give them an opening. Local multiplayer's where it really shines though—nothing like watching your friend eat a lamppost because they got too greedy on the final stretch.
Just don't expect a scenic tour. This is pure arcade chaos with an American flag slapped on it.
