Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time is one of those DS games that just sticks with you. You wake up as a Pokémon—no trainer, no explanation—just you and some weird amnesia. The first thing you do? Partner up with another Pokémon (I went with Chimchar because fire types never disappoint) and start crawling through randomly generated dungeons.
Battles are turn-based but with a twist—you move on a grid, and so do enemies, so positioning actually matters. And yeah, you’ll get wrecked if you just mash attacks. The story’s surprisingly deep for a Pokémon spin-off, full of time-travel twists and friendships that actually hit harder than you’d expect. Plus, the soundtrack? Absolute bangers.
It’s got that classic Mystery Dungeon grind—expect to lose progress when you faint—but somehow, you’ll still keep diving back in for one more floor.
