Pokémon Platinum (the French version, in this case) is basically the definitive Sinnoh experience—it takes Diamond and Pearl and smooths out the rough edges. You’ve got the same snowy routes and weirdly spaced towns, but now the Pokédex isn’t missing half the fire types, and everything moves a little faster. Also, Giratina gets its own messed-up distortion world, which is way cooler than just finding it in a cave.
First thing you’ll notice? The battle animations are snappier, and the Wi-Fi Plaza is this weird little hub where you can play minigames with other players. The underground digging minigame is still oddly addictive, though good luck finding anyone to do secret base stuff with these days. And yeah, the physical/special split is here, so your Gengar isn’t stuck using Shadow Ball as a special attack anymore.
It’s still very much a Gen 4 game—expect slow HP bars and HMs everywhere—but if you’re going to play Sinnoh, this is the version that holds up best.
