Pokémon Moon Black 2 is one of those fan-made ROM hacks that actually feels polished—like it could’ve been a real DS release. You start off in a tweaked version of Unova, but with a darker, almost eerie vibe (hence the "Moon" part). The usual Pokémon formula’s there—catching, battling, gyms—but the wild encounters are shuffled, so you’re not just running into the same early-game rodents and birds. Found a Ralts before the first gym, which never happens in the official games.
Battles feel snappier, too. The AI’s a bit smarter—none of that "use Splash three times in a row" nonsense. And the new custom sprites? Really clean. Some of the evolutions got visual tweaks that actually make sense (looking at you, ugly Gen 5 sprites).
If you’ve burned through the mainline games and want something familiar but with surprises, this one’s solid. Just don’t expect Nintendo-level polish—it’s a ROM hack, after all.
