Pokémon Diamond Sun and Moon is one of those fan-made NDS hacks that mashes up the best parts of different Pokémon games—so yeah, you get Sinnoh’s region from Diamond but with Alolan Pokémon from Sun/Moon popping up in tall grass. Weird combo, but it works.
First thing you’ll notice? The starters are all over the place—I went with Rowlet because ghost-type Decidueye is just too good to pass up. The maps feel familiar but tweaked, and some trainers throw curveballs with teams they shouldn’t technically have (looking at you, guy with a Gible before the second gym). Battles are snappy, and the added Sun/Moon Pokémon keep things from feeling like a straight Diamond replay.
It’s got janky moments—some dialogue’s clearly been Frankensteined in—but if you’ve burned through the official games and want a fresh-ish Pokémon fix, this’ll do the trick. Just don’t expect a polished Nintendo release.
