Pokémon White Version on the DS is one of those games that just feels different—in a good way. You start off in Unova, this whole new region packed with brand-new Pokémon (no old favorites at first, which was a bold move). The sprites actually move during battles now, and the cities have this weirdly cool 3D effect when you run around. First thing you’ll notice? Team Plasma’s running around preaching about "liberating" Pokémon, which is… awkward when you’re literally battling them five minutes later.
Gym leaders actually have personalities now, and the story’s got some weight to it—way more than "hey kid, go catch ‘em all." Plus, the seasons change every real-world month, so routes look totally different. I remember getting stuck in Chargestone Cave for way too long because I kept missing one stupid gear. Still one of my favorite Pokémon games, though—it actually tried something new.
