Oddworld Adventures is basically Abe's Oddysey crammed onto the Game Boy—somehow. You play as Abe, this weird little Mudokon dude who starts off scrubbing floors in a meat factory before realizing, "Hey, maybe I don’t wanna be processed into snacks?" The controls take some getting used to (that tiny D-pad makes precise jumps way harder than they should be), but once you get the hang of sneaking past Sligs and whispering "Follow me" to rescue your fellow workers, it’s weirdly satisfying.
They cut a lot from the PS1 version—no FMVs, obviously, and some of the darker humor doesn’t land the same—but the creepy factory vibe and those signature Oddworld sound effects (Abe’s grunts, the Sligs’ mechanical stomping) somehow survive the transition. Just don’t expect the same fluidity—this is a Game Boy port, after all. Still, it’s impressive they got the soul of Oddworld onto a cartridge this small.
