Obocchama Kun is one of those weird, charming NES games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this goofy energy you don’t see much in platformers. You play as this little rich kid (the "obocchama" in the title) who runs around slapping enemies with a fan, of all things. The controls feel a little stiff at first, but once you get used to the rhythm, bouncing between platforms and whacking weirdos becomes oddly satisfying.
The levels are short but packed with weird details—like how some enemies just straight-up look like office workers or sumo wrestlers. There’s no real story, just vibes, and honestly? That’s part of the appeal. If you’re into retro games that don’t take themselves too seriously, this one’s a hidden gem. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand.
