Navy Seals on Game Boy is one of those old-school military shooters that feels way more intense than it has any right to be. You start off sneaking through jungles and bunkers with this tiny pixelated soldier, trying not to alert guards—but the second you mess up, bullets start flying everywhere. The controls take a minute to get used to (that d-pad aiming is brutal at first), but once it clicks, you feel like a total badass picking off enemies from the shadows.
What surprised me was how tactical it actually is. You can't just run in guns blazing—you've got limited ammo, and some missions require rescuing hostages without getting them killed. The night vision goggles were my favorite touch; flipping them on in dark levels made me feel like a proper spec ops guy. It's got that classic Game Boy charm where the simple graphics somehow make your imagination fill in the gaps.
Still holds up if you're into retro challenge. Just don't throw your Game Boy when you accidentally alert the whole base.
