Natsuki Crisis Battle is one of those SNES games that somehow flew under the radar back in the day, which is a shame because it’s got this weird, chaotic charm. You play as Natsuki, who’s basically a space cop with a jetpack and a serious attitude problem. The first level throws you right into it—dodging laser fire, jumping over pits, and blasting robots that explode into satisfying little pixel chunks.
The controls take a second to get used to—her jump feels a little floaty at first—but once it clicks, you’re weaving through enemy patterns like some kind of neon-drenched ballet. And that soundtrack? Pure early '90s synth energy, the kind that gets stuck in your head after just one playthrough.
It’s not the deepest game out there, but there’s something about the sheer speed of it that keeps you hitting retry after you inevitably faceplant into a spike trap. If you’re into obscure action-platformers with a sci-fi twist, this one’s worth dusting off.
