Okay, so Mickey Mouse on NES is one of those old-school platformers that somehow makes jumping on mushrooms and dodging weirdly shaped enemies feel charming. You start off in this bright, cartoony world—classic Disney vibes—and right away, you’re bouncing on floating platforms like it’s no big deal. The controls are simple (it’s the NES, after all), but some of those jumps? Brutal. You’ll miss one and suddenly Mickey’s falling into a pit like it’s his day job.
The music’s got that bouncy, slightly repetitive 8-bit charm, and the levels are packed with little secrets if you poke around. I remember spending way too long trying to figure out if that one suspicious-looking bush was hiding anything (it wasn’t). It’s not the hardest game out there, but it’s got that weird mix of cute and frustrating that makes you want to try just one more time. If you’re into retro stuff or just want to see Mickey in pixel form, it’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on that one jump in the third level.
