Man, Mega Lo Mania on SNES is one of those weirdly addictive strategy games that just pulls you in. You start with a tiny patch of land and a handful of cavemen, and before long, you're researching tech, building armies, and wiping out rival tribes—all in that classic chunky pixel art style.
The coolest part? You actually evolve your civilization through different eras, from sticks and stones to gunpowder and beyond. I remember getting stuck for ages trying to figure out the best way to balance research with troop production—too many soldiers too early, and you fall behind in tech. Too much research, and you get steamrolled by some jerk with a bigger army.
It’s got that perfect mix of simplicity and depth where you can jump in fast, but there’s always some new trick to learn. And yeah, the AI can be brutal sometimes—don’t be surprised if you lose a few matches before you get the hang of it. Still holds up surprisingly well for a 16-bit strategy game.
